At starScience we see ourselves as accelerators for novel scientific approaches aiming to improve lives of individuals affected by metabolic diseases such as obesity, prediabetes and diabetes. One of our special area of expertise is the evaluation of food as medicine concepts. We are also interested in developing novel diagnostic tools. For this, we cooperate with science-driven public and corporate actors interested in preventive health and nutrition. In cooperation with our clinics at Stoffwechselzentrum Rhein-Pfalz and other partners, we have access to thousands of individuals affected by metabolic disease.
starScience supports its partners in evaluating evidence-based concepts from the first idea to publication in a peer-reviewed journal. We aim to work with people with a strong interest in advancing the field.

The Team
Prof. Per Humpert leads a team consisting of highly qualified medical doctors, study nurses, diabetes nurses, and nutrition scientists. In close cooperation with Stoffwechselzentrum Rhein-Pfalz, we treat and have access to many individuals affected by metabolic disease. Per founded starScience in 2015 and co-founded Stoffwechselzentrum Rhein-Pfalz in 2010 after many years of clinical and scientific work at Heidelberg’s renowned University Hospital.
